ADVENT 2020, Week five: When Heaven Comes Near
Sunday, December 27: Well Laid Plans
Jeremiah 29:11
God has a plan for 2021. He also has a plan for you in 2021. How good it is to know that it is a plan to prosper us, not to harm us. And God does just have a plan to get us through today, His plan points toward a hope-filled future. Let us pray today that we would wholeheartedly invest in what He has for us to do today, knowing that ultimately, what we do today has eternal value.
Monday, December 28: All Things
Romans 8:28
This coming year is bound to bring both joy and heartache; successes and disappointments. But God is able to use both good and bad to accomplish His purpose. He’s just that powerful. Let’s pray that we may be trusting and faithful in the difficult and still trusting and faithful in the good.
Tuesday, December 29: Clean Slate
II Corinthians 5:17
When we trust in Jesus for forgiveness of our sins, He gives us just that -- a clean slate. However, as we live in this world and wrestle with the flesh, sinful attitudes and actions build up in our lives that don’t belong. Today, let’s seek His grace and forgiveness and begin this year with a clean slate.
Wednesday, December 30: Charting Our Course
Colossians 3:1-4
In order to navigate through whatever 2021 brings, it will be crucial for us to chart our spiritual course. Someone has defined charting the course as, “making decisions about our direction.” Today, let us take time to pray over our decisions; what we set our hearts and minds upon.
Thursday, December 31: Bring It On!
Hebrews 13:15
As we reflect upon the old year past and ring in the year to come, may our lives be a continuum of praise and thanksgiving. Our God has been, is, and will be ever faithful. Happy New Year!
